The Junkers Ju-88 was one of the most versatile aircraft designs of the Second World War and despite initial operational setbacks, it became an invaluable asset to the Luftwaffe. Regarded by observers as the German equivalent of the De Havilland Mosquito, the Ju 88 was used in a multitude of roles from fighter to flying bomb and was produced in huge numbers. The early Ju-88A-1’s were some of the first Luftwaffe aircraft to see combat with the Royal Air Force and despite its impressive speed, it was to prove a relatively easy target for Spitfires and Hurricanes. A series of field modifications greatly improved its survivability and during the latter stages of the Battle of Britain the Ju-88 was to realize its potential and become one of the finest aircraft of the war. This release will delight Battle of Britain enthusiasts, as it represents an aircraft used during the height of this conflict and is surely one of the most attractive schemes used on this type.
