| J & M Murdoch & Son started in 1965 by John and Margaret Murdoch to carry animal feeds as a progression from his agricultural roots. The company was based at Thornliemuir Farm, Paisley, and operated 7 vehicles. The company moved in 1974 to Glenfield Road, Paisley, moving more into general haulage, transporting whisky, timber, fertiliser and containers the fleet grew to 30 vehicles. A further move was made in 1997 to a former thread mill in Neilston. The fleet had been downsized to 18 vehicles in order to specialise in plant transport, waste disposal and recycling. Today J & M Murdoch & Son Limited is run from Crofthead Mill, Neilston, headed by John Murdoch Junior, Andrew Murdoch and their sister Helen. The fleet is mainly Volvo and currently stands at 35 vehicles. The company was acclaimed as ‘Best Scottish Fleet of the Year 2007’. Estimated release date 13th October |
