"SAVE £9.49" An apparent reconstruction of Halifax Mk.II Srs.1, W1048 was made in the beginning of 1942 by the English Electric company. On 27th of April 1942 it flew up from the Scottish airfield Kinloss to its first and at the same time last operational flight, piloted by P/O D.McIntyre, together with some other Halifaxes of 35th squadron and with airplanes of two further squadrons it went to attack German battleship Tirpitz which was anchored in Foettenfjord near Trondheim in Norway.
