Today marks two years till the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games, 24 months before the flame is lit, a whole 104 weeks of training and anticipation left.
Today organisers are ‘calling on the UK public to start planning their Games to ensure they don’t miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime event’ and there are many ways people can get involved, either by signing up for tickets, becoming a ‘London Ambassador’ or one of 70,000 ‘London 2012 Games Maker’ volunteers. Athletes and young people will today take the train to the Olympic Park, with key people including Organising Committee Chair Seb Coe and Mayor of London Boris Johnson, to view the progress being made for themselves and witness the first showing of sporting greatest within the venues.
