In 1899, W. J. Bassett-Lowke founded the company that bore his name and over the subsequent decades the Bassett Lowke tradition of producing superb precision-engineered locomotives has been maintained. Today, Corgi continues to design and manufacture 'O' gauge locomotives, wagons and accessories under the Bassett-Lowke brand as a permanent reminder of the bygone golden age of steam, from the 1920s to 1960s.
