Green Goddess – Part of the Manston Fire Museum Collection
Product Code: DG221005
In the first instance it was the Air Raid Precautions Act of 1937 that gave the provision for a volunteer force to supplement the regular brigades in the event of war and this instigated the formation of the Auxiliary Fire Service. The Green Goddess fire engines were brought into service during the 1950s; their role was not only fire fighting but also for the clear up after nuclear bomb attack.
After the Cold War many of the Green Goddesses were surplus to requirements and were sold off to local authorities and works fire services. This model in the striking lime green finish is now privately owned but can be seen on occasions at themed events throughout the UK.
The Corgi Trackside collection features a great selection on die-cast road transport vehicles with authentic liveries ideal for both the 1:76 scale collector and the OO railway modeller. The Trackside range is the perfect accessory for a railway layout or a themed diorama.
