Subaru Impreza Turbo – Humberside Police
Product Code: VA12101
When the Subaru Impreza Turbo was launched in Europe in 1994 it totally reinvented the performance-car rulebook. With room for four people, this conservatively styled saloon was faster point to point than any supercar, but cheaper than a top of the range Mondeo. Curiously the Police did not use Imprezas until 1998 when two Prodrive Performance modified Vehicle Crime Unit cars, one of which is modelled here, entered service with the Humberside Force. At this time, Humberside had the worst vehicle crime figures in the UK, but nothing on the road could outrun an Impreza, as the local criminals soon found out to their cost.
