People have asked in other Corgi forum post for lists of models that have been produced and don't get answers .

The diecast world tend to keep information on what they acquire to themselves ,after spending 20 years looking for rare or variations to complete collections to post on a forum telling the world what they have found goes against the grain.

I put my post on to see if someone would ask for a picture as this is now on the internet forever( I will not )

As AndrewD points out some model prices go through the roof while others you cannot give away ,speculators

Push up prices.

As you may have read in the papers Hornby have had a tough time in the last two years , up until last year they had a website on the well known selling platform Ebay ( this is closed now) selling their archive models, the Corgi models had certificates with low numbers of 01 / 04 / 05 /06 so there are low numbers in the marketplace now.

Can someone tell me why it is inportant to have 01 certificate ??

In the picture below is a model with 0000 is this a fake NO it is the factory sample.

So to answer you question yes the low or number 01 were sold by Hornby.

You could try K H Norton  at  sales@norton.co.uk , they are wholesalers of toys in Leicestershire.

They may have stands from damaged models .

You are right Andrew the Mini was issued in 1995 as was the VW Beetle (DG72) in Mid Blue , the first model issued in the blue box with Vanguard on was the Morris Traveller (DG65) 1994 in Green and Old English White.

The Morris Traveller first was issued in 1994 as a set of 8 Lledo promo's for Vectis Models (IOW).

Another thing that I would point out is that using a window box ment that the factory didn't have to order printed boxes by model ( cardboard box had a picture of the model and VA number printed) so 10,000 boxes could be ordered and box end labels produced to match model, this allowed the boxes to be made flat like the other ranges Lledo made in Enfield.

Hi Andrew

You say that some collectors  ignore the first 2 zeros that is not the reason ,

In  the RDP guides after 2001 three digets were added as numbers would run out at VA 99 _000, so the Anglia is

VA001 first in the NEW vanguard range  008 the  9th model produced.

The "R" may stand for retail.                                                                                                                                                   Packaging adds to cost and weight also fitting as many models in a defined size box for export as possable will also determine how models are boxed.
