Airfix Celebrates its 75th Anniversary
Airfix celebrated its 75th anniversary by welcoming full-size D-Day vehicles into its headquarters.
On Friday 17th January, three vehicles paraded through the Hornby Hobbies HQ to celebrate the milestone anniversary, with many more exciting events planned.
In the coming months, Hornby Hobbies will be opening its doors to the public with our largest ever diorama on display - a staggering 6 x 4 metres!
Also, to coincide with the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings in 1944, a three-dimensional miniature scene complete with models of the vehicles, aircraft and soldiers that fought on the beaches in France will be on display.
On Good Friday (18th April) members of the British Legion and World War II re-enactors will be welcomed for an official opening.
Furthermore, members of the Airfix 2014 Club will also receive a one-off 75th Anniversary Collectors Badge. For more information on joining the Airfix Club please click here.
2014 is sure to be a fantastic year for Airfix not only because of its 75th anniversary but also the anniversaries of WWI and D-Day.
