Another success for Corgi at RIAT 2019
The Royal International Air Tattoo took place last weekend from the 19th-21st July at RAF Fairford, with Corgi in attendance.
A big thank you to those who made their way down to the Corgi marquee. We had a display highlighting some of our latest models including the two NEW 1:72 scale limited edition models Panavia Tornado GR.4 ZG752 (AA33619) and Panavia Tornado GR.4 ZG775, No. IX (B) (AA33620) that were announced on the first morning of RIAT. These proved to be incredibly popular and it was a lovely chance to meet so many of you.

RIAT 2019 was an exceptional weekend with Saturday selling out and around 170,000 people attending in total. It is easy to see why with 245 planes from 25 nations in attendance, providing spectacular flying and static displays. One of the highlights of the weekend were British Airways celebrating their centenary. They performed a remarkable fly-past with the Red Arrows using their Boeing 747 jumbo jet in historic BOAC livery.
There was an immense selection of displays on offer, including a celebration of NATO’s 70th anniversary with F-16’s from Belgium, Denmark, Netherlands and Norway, F-15s from US Air Force and three RAF Typhoons plus more. The Romanian Mikoyan MiG-21, an iconic aircraft from the Cold War, was a definite highlight having not flown at RIAT since 2001. To top it all off the RAF Red Arrows performed across the weekend in what was their last public UK display before they head off for their North American tour.

Other highlights from the weekend include the vastly popular Spanish Navy Harrier air display and incredible static displays of the rare F-4 Phantoms from the Turkish Air Force and the impressive Qatari C-17 plus many more.
