RAF Centenary: 1918 – 2018
Marking one of the most significant developments in the history of world aviation, 2018 will see the Royal Air Force commemorate its centenary with a series of events planned throughout the year.
Formed on 1st April 1918, the Royal Air Force saw the amalgamation of the Royal Naval Air Service and Royal Flying Corps into a single fi ghting force and the establishment of the world’s fi rst independent air arm. With some 300,000 service personnel and 22,000 aircraft under its control, the new Royal Air Force immediately became the largest and most powerful air force in the world, with this combined force determined to advance the potential of British military aviation.
The Corgi Aviation Archive range has earned a proud reputation in producing a great many RAF related model releases since it was first launched in 1998 and we could not let this centenary year pass without making our own unique die-cast aviation tribute.
We are pleased to announce our Royal Air Force 100 Collection, a series of specially presented model releases which mark 100 glorious year of the Royal Air Force and our own die-cast aviation commemoration of this significant aviation anniversary.
